The Officer and the Secret
by Jeanette Murray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Raised in the far reaches of the world, as a missionary child, Veronica Gibson life has been a extremely sheltered. Now living in the same city of her cousin, Veronica is fighting to appear normal in a world she is struggling to belong.
Captain Dwayne Robertson has just returned home from deployment. Suffering from the stress of war, Dwayne found solace in skype chats with Veronica. Veronica is the roommate who always seemed to be there and pick up when he was calling his friends while on deployment. Now home and meeting the beauty face to face he is unsure if he should pursue the attraction he feels, confused by his PTSD symptoms.
Veronica is caught up in a few of Dwayne's PTSD flash backs, carefully walking Dwayne back to a safer mindset each time. Their relationship grows into strong friendship right under their noses, can they see what they have before its too late?
The Officer and the Secret is the prefect, sweet and heartfelt story of two beautiful people finding true love. Both damaged by circumstances of their past, Veronica and Dwayne journeying to find the missing component (each other) in their lives was a splendid experience to read. Don't miss this enjoyable and heartwarming story.
