Opposites do more than just attract in Toni Aleo’s latest Nashville Assassins novel about a very bad boy and the good girl he can’t resist.
The instant Piper Allen sees Erik Titov, she wants him—wants his rock-hard body, sure, but the strength and mystery that lies behind that superstar hockey jock demeanor, too. So when he sidles up to her at a bar and slinks his arm around her waist, she’s lost. What follows is the wildest night of her life . . . followed by inevitable heartbreak the next morning. And then, a few weeks later, a very big surprise: two blue lines on a pregnancy test.
Only a check to the head could make Erik fall for a nice girl like Piper. But since their crazy-sexy night together, he’s been trying to forget about her alluring body by falling into bed with every woman in Nashville, and it’s not working. So when Piper shows up at his house with a baby-bomb to drop, it doesn’t take much for Erik to suggest the nuclear option: marriage. While it’s supposed to be all for show, the second they say “I do,” the ice between them starts to melt into sizzling steam.
Blue Lines by Toni Aleo
After a wild and passionate sexual encounter with Piper Allen, Erik Titov runs for the hills. He's scared of ever becoming his biological father, abusive and a horrible father. He has genuine feelings for Piper Allen, but only makes matters worse by sleeping his way through every hockey groupie he meets trying to forget the woman that grabbed his heart. His wild ways are reflecting badly on the Assassins and he is given an ultimatum by the team's management...shape up or he will be shipped out.
Piper wants to tell Erik that she's pregnant but Erik is avoiding Piper like the plague. By the time he discovers she is having his baby, Erik feels trapped. To make matters worse, he decides his best plan to show the Assassins that he's turned over a new leaf is marry Piper. Can Piper show Erik they really do have what it takes to be a family? Will she be able to crack the walls around his heart?
Blue Lines took steam to a whole new level. Piper and Erik burn up the pages, when they finally get back into bed together...in the mean time the sexual tension is explosive.
Erik wasn't a very likable character, extremely self centered but had no self perception/self awareness. Erik was surrounded by people who where utterly devoted and loving...a wonderful family, great friends and Piper. Piper goes above and beyond in her patients with Erik, she should get an award for her perseverance and ability to forgive.
Aleo's brings her fabulous cast from previous installments crashing into Piper's and Erik's lives. Giving us the connection we desire with our past Assassin's friends. Hot hockey players, wonderfully funny situations and heart breaking drama all united to make Blue Lines a marvelous story.
