Just One Look
Sometimes that's all it takes…

FBI Special Agent Drew Davenport, still recovering from a life-threatening wound after a disastrous shootout, doesn’t have time to be serious about any woman. But Mia Alvarez, with her down-to-earth warmth, leaves him blind-sided.

A painful experience crushed Mia’s belief in love. The last thing she needs is an entanglement with Drew, whose sister is marrying her brother. And certainly not when she’s keeping a major secret. Despite her misgivings, forced proximity and overwhelming attraction lead to passion.

When Mia's secret shows up in the form of a stalker, Drew’s determined to protect her. Can he overcome his fear of failing again when emotions get in the way? And while Mia trusts Drew with her safety, can she trust in love when it happens with just one look?

Just One Look is a stand-alone companion novel to Against the Wind

Just One Look by Virginia Kelly
My Rating:  5 Stars

Doesn’t a wedding just bring out the romantic side of everyone? With just one look, it definitely sparked some kind of attraction between FBI agent Drew Davenport and the down-to-earth Mia Alvarez when they cross paths at a family wedding. Remember Virginia Kelly’s Against the Wind? Drew’s sister, Blair is marrying Mia’s brother, Michael. Injured in the line of duty, Drew is still nowhere near 100%, feeling restless with the recovery process and definitely not up to a relationship with anyone. Mia doesn’t believe in love anymore, thanks to a brutal betrayal that cost her more than her pride. Fate, chemistry, and the romantic setting seem destined to pull these two together as sparks turn into flames of passion that are threatened to be extinguished when a crazed stalker has found Mia, seeking retribution for his skewed version of their past. Can Drew protect Mia from this monster without losing his heart to this amazing woman?

Talented author Virginia Kelly blends action, romance, and suspense into a fevered frenzy in Just One Look and she makes it look easy! Creating a beautiful backdrop for love and danger, Ms. Kelly has paired intrigue with passion and need that practically flies of the pages. Drew and Mia are wonderful characters, both intelligent and mature, no angst-filled romantic drama, just the insecurity of new love and doubts from the past. With a cast of supporting characters that add just the right touch of humor and darkness, as well as the sound of wedding bells in the background, and danger in the forefront, Just One Look is magnetic!

I received this copy from the author in exchange for my honest review as part of the JUST ONE LOOK Blog Tour and Giveaway starting at Tome Tender April 25, 2014.
