The Mystic Wolves (Mystic Wolves #1)My Review
Mystic Wolves by Belinda Boring
My Rating: 4 Stars

Are you new to paranormal romance or maybe looking for a “light” paranormal read? The Mystic Wolves by Belinda Boring is a quick and relatively light read with moments of amazing humor, heart-breaking pain, a deadly mystery and hard determination to solve it. An innocent trip to the store turns deadly and the pain hits close to home for pack alpha, Mason and his future mate, Darcy. Someone is sending Mason and his pack a message, but who could willingly kill innocents with such brutal ease?

Struggling with guilt and grief, Darcy is determined to avenge the death of her best friend, but her hot-headed ways could only lead to disaster. Can Mason and his pack ferret out the vile coward making a play for power? Is it another wolf pack or is it other supernaturals with their own agenda?

Belinda Boring has taken a different approach to writing paranormal fantasy, without chapter upon chapter set aside for sensual moments, she gives us Fade to Back moments that are just as note worthy and sigh-inspiring without being “in your Face,” about it. Also missing are page after page pounding out gore and mayhem. The rest is delightful filler, enriching and rounding out this tale.

Ms. Boring has created unique individuals from the lethally somber to the incredibly comical and allowed the reader to draw their own mental fantasies regarding their futures in other additions to this series. For me, I found the simplicity and straight forward approach taken by Ms. Boring to be a refreshing break from more complex and dark paranormal tales.

I received this copy from the author in exchange for my honest reviews.
