Blackout by Tim Curran
My Rating: 5 Stars

Ahh, the ever-popular suburbanite block party, where too much beer flows, too much food gets eaten and people start disappearing? Must be another tale of mystery and mayhem from author Tim Curran!

Blackout is a quick read that starts out dark and gets even darker as one man searches for his missing wife only to find that one by one, everyone he knows is disappearing, buildings are being crushed and the night becomes blacker than black without a star to shine in the sky. What’s happening? An alien invasion? Body snatchers? Something never seen before is wiping out all human life as long tentacles snake down from the sky and pull people up, never to be seen again.

Jon has witnessed the brutal and gory demise of his friends, and has made a striking discovery, which may be the answer to the extinction of dinosaurs and every other major annihilation of life throughout Earth’s existence. What he discovers may not be for the faint of heart or stomach.

If you are a timid reader, Tim Curran’s style is not for you, but if you enjoy the in-your-face style of this author who manages to bring each scene to life in all of its glory and tension, I highly recommend you give Blackout a try, maybe on a night when you lose power!

Congratulations, Tim Curran, you have quite possibly created the perfect appetite suppressant!

I received an ARC edition from DarkFuse in exchange for my honest review.
