Before tragedy left her crippled, Artemis “Temi” Sidaris was a world-class tennis player at the height of her career. The sport was her passion, her dream, and all she ever wanted to do. Fighting monsters… was not part of the plan.
But when a pair of pointy-eared strangers offers to heal her injury if she’s willing to wield a powerful sword to protect humanity… how can she resist?
Destiny Unchosen is a 21,000-word novella that takes place between Torrent and the forthcoming Thorn Fall (September, 2014).
Destiny Unchosen by Lindsay Buroker
Straight out, Lindsay Buroker is a gifted storyteller. Destiny Unchosen, despite being a novella length story, kept me glued to the pages from start to finish.
Temi, Artemis, is taken to the another world to learn sword play. To avoid giving away any spoilers for this series, I'm going to leave my summary at that.
What can I tell you...
I love Burokers' steampunk and even though she's moved to a more scifi alien based genre I'm still loving her writing. She creates marvelous worlds, her characters are rich, and she has a way of bringing her characters to life. Buroker is on my must read author list. You should read book 1 in the Rust and Relics series first for reading Destiny Unchosen.
