Synopsis:

The exciting novella that ties into the popular Shadow-Keepers Series by Jas T. Ward-- BOUNCE.

Wisdom says that one’s past makes one’s future. Both intertwine with the present to weave the cloth of one’s life in a tapestry of events that show the whole play of time.

But what happens when a past is forgotten. The threads of memory hidden away to prevent the cloth of time from being unfolded as to prevent it from being ripped apart at the seams?

Power can destroy. Power can create. But when powers with no known purpose are pushed too far, can a love for mankind save it?

This is the story of Bounce.

The god without a past. The god with an unspoken and unknown future. And a god with a destiny and the power to save us all.

Shame he can’t remember that.

But someone does.

Bounce: A Story from The GridMy Review
Bounce: A Story From the Grid by Jas T. Ward

Any man or god that stands around seven feet tall with muscles like armored steel, who commands an army of supernatural warriors and soldiers, well if he wants to call himself Bounce, for whatever reason, I say let him, just don’t ask him why. One of the tough and hardened characters from Jas T. Ward’s Madness, Bounce gets his own backstory in the cleverly titled tome, Bounce.

What made Bounce the god he is today? Where did he come from? Is he really made of grit and nails or is that a fa├žade that hides the pain and loneliness of his existence. Has he always been the distant loner or did deceit and the ultimate horror and betrayal shatter his heart, leaving only tattered remnants? His loyalty is hard won; he has earned the respect of his soldiers and those around him. And he owns a swinging hot bar where he can secretly keep watch over and protect his people, sometimes from themselves. Still, until now, as his past is revealed, he has been like a solid phantom, sturdy, but not quite fleshed out, well, except for his rage that seems to hover just below the surface, ready to spew at a moment’s notice.

Get ready to want to cry for Bounce as his story is revealed, warts and all. Once an innocent god with no idea how he came to be or who he was, all of the trust and goodness he showed to others gets slammed back in his face as he is sucker-punched in the most brutal of ways.

Way to go Jas T. Ward! You create the legendary figure that is Bounce, then you make him like a favorite old stuffed teddy bear, completely lovable with a past that can endear him to even the coldest of hearts. All that soul-wrenching history may forever make anything he does seem okay.

Once again, Jas T. Ward does things her way, The Ward Way, unique, solid and heart stopping with a dollop of brutal truths on top. Keep your eye on Ms. Ward, this author is going places!

I received this copy from Jas T. Ward in exchange for my honest review.
