Synopsis:

Atlantic City is the perfect place for detective Bradley Hudson to nurse his broken heart. A week of beer and strippers is sure to erase his former fiancée from his memory for good. What he didn't count on was running into a sassy redhead from his past. Maybe a rebound romp is an even better plan…
Trina Trimble, private eye in training, is thrilled to be reunited with the hottie she almost hooked up with last summer. She's undercover on her first solo case, but there's always time to lock lips with a sexy cop. Besides, a fun fling with Brad doesn't have to last beyond his week in town.
Brad and Trina are supposed to be just flirting, not forging a new forever. Brad's still healing, and although Trina changes careers the way other women change shoes, she has finally found her calling in her new life of disguises and stakeouts. But when an irresistible job offer threatens to lure her away, Brad will need to decide to let her go or bet it all on love and risk his heart again.

Love on the BoardwalkMy Review
Love on the Boardwalk by Christi Barth

I can always count on Christi Barth for a lighthearted, fun and fluffy romance. Love on the Boardwalk is definitely a bright star in contemporary romance, thanks to Ms. Barth’s wickedly funny and quirky characters that she populates her world with.

From the moment Brad went on his “un-honeymoon” to Atlantic City, even the strip club he went to couldn’t lighten his mood, until a perky waitress full of bounce catches his eye and he realizes he knows her! No way it could be that goofy wanna be sleuth, Trina, barely dressed and looking totally inviting. As a police detective, Brad’s keen sense of awareness and the whole Serve and Protect thing has him coming to Trina’s rescue as a bar patron gets a little too grabby. But, as they walk along the beach, its Trina who detects something off about Brad and makes it her mission to find out what it is and how she can help him forget what has wounded this hot, specimen of one of Maryland’s finest. Secretly crushing on Brad since they met several months before, Trina knows he was dumped by his fiancée and maybe his ego could use a boost, and she is just the girl to do it. Could this little spitfire of fun be just what Brad needs to blow off some steam? Or has cupid given him another chance to find love with a girl who knows just what to do and say at the right time.

Is it possible for a love story to be any more fun than this? Christi Barth has done it again! How does she come up with her quirky plots and add just enough L-O-V-E and romance to warm your heart on the chilliest of nights? Trina is priceless with her quirky, hyper way of dealing with life. Brad is damaged, alone and when Trina leaps back into his life, the change in him as this tale progresses is amazing.

Christi Barth puts the sparkle back in romance with her fast-paced, creative and fun style. Looking for an upbest romance with a touch of mystery and intrigue? Want to smile large and often? Definitely pick up Love on the Boardwalk!

I received this ARC edition from Carina Press in exchange for my honest review.
