Love's Bitter HarvestMy Review
Love's Bitter Harvest by Jas T. Ward

Love’s Bitter Harvest by Jas T. Ward, just as the cover says, is Romance the Ward Way. Why? This isn’t just a love story, it’s a grueling accounting of lives torn apart, loss and a complete failure to be honest with your feelings.

Matt and Katy were high school sweethearts who married. Life was perfect, or was it? When Katy finds she needs more than life as a small town orchard owner’s wife, she makes a brutal decision to follow her dreams and make something of herself. Matt, wrapped up in his own world, refused to support her, but, although separated, they never divorced. Years later, a polished and refined “Katherine”returns when Matt has been left physically and emotional damaged. After losing his family and then the use of his legs, Matt is angry, bitter and so very alone. Humiliated, feeling like half a man, he does his best to push Katy back out of his life. Barbs and jabs hit their marks, as these two dance around a painful truth.

Is there hope they can at least be friends or will their love for each other destroy their very souls. Is it time for honesty, or is it too late?

Jas T. Ward is an outstanding story teller, as she brings raw reality, raw emotions and a darkly edgy feel to this tale of missed chances, second chances, mistakes repeated over and over again. She provides a world that is small, enveloping the world Matt now lives in, slowly building it into the world Katy wants him to see and be part of. From the secondary and supporting characters comes a rounding out of this world, breathing in even more life, as well as a sense of community.
A tale of hope and growth, love and need, both heartbreaking and enlightening at the same time, Ms. Ward pulls no delicate punches, she goes for the emotional KO. I like Romance the Ward Way!

I received this copy from Jas T. Ward in exchange for my honest review.
