The Horseman is unending,
his presence shan’t lessen.
If you break the curse,
you become the legend.

Washington Irving and Rip Van Winkle had no choice but to cover up the deadly truth behind Ichabod Crane’s disappearance. Centuries later, a Crane returns to Sleepy Hollow awakening macabre secrets once believed to be buried deep.

What if the monster that spawned the legend lived within you?

Now, Ireland Crane, reeling from a break-up and seeking a fresh start, must rely on the newly awakened Rip Van Winkle to discover the key to channeling the darkness swirling within her. Bodies are piling high and Ireland is the only one that can save Sleepy Hollow by embracing her own damning curse.

But is anyone truly safe when the Horseman rides?

Crane (The Legends Saga, #1)My Review
Crane by Stacey Rourke

I flat out loved Crane. If you are looking for a spooky Halloween read, Crane is a perfect pick.

Stacey Rourke transforms Washington Irving's tale of the The Headless Horseman into a fabulous contemporary horror storytelling... Vacillating between Ichabod Crane's and Ireland Crane's encounters with the horseman the reader is given the past and the present story until they collide.

Don't get me wrong, its not all horror. Rourke masterfully bring plenty of snark and humor to her characters, even when they are facing their darkest hours.

I have to admit, many times I was thinking 'man I didn't see that coming'. The plot twists and turns leaving us with an exciting, original and fresh storyline.

I received this copy of Crane from Anchor Group Publishing in exchange for a honest review.
