Chosen Thief (Forever Evermore Book 4)My Review
Chosen Thief  by Scarlett Dawn

This author just keeps on going, getting better, wittier and more creative! Scarlett Dawn’s Chosen Thief opens with a bang and keeps on going! Imagine, an inmate on death row in a mystical jail, just may be one of the next generation of prodigies in the supernatural world. Caro has never had a family, a home or been connected to anyone, life has been hard, solitary and she has no roots. A life of crime was all she knew, as an Elemental, able to shift through dimensions, the Kings and Queens have their eye on her and her life as a loner is about to end, even as she fights tooth and nail to resist. Caro has secrets, and she plans on keeping them, if only everyone would leave her alone! She does not follow rules well, seems to have problems with taking directions to heart and a team player? No.Way. She is a solo act, too bad no one believes her as they force her into their world, shove rules down her throat and actually expect her to obey them!

She once had a lover she left behind. Will her past come back to haunt her? What of the other Prodigies? Her best friend, Sin is by her side to protect her from herself, loyal to the end, not that she can figure out why. The new girl on the block, she raises the tension when other Prodigies are looking at her like she is the best thing since chocolate, but the races don’t mix, so how does she cool the tension between herself and some of the hottest eye-candy she has ever seen? What if the Kings and Queens aren’t as dense to life as they seem? Are they seeing themselves in this young rebel? Will Caro show her loyalty once again to all who doubted her as she becomes a whipping boy for the Elders?

I admit, Caro brings back memories of Queen Ruckler, before she was queen with a little more sass, prickliness and attitude. This new generation of Prodigies is going to have a hard time putting anything over on their Majesties. When a powerful spirit leader shows up, its game on as Caro comes into her powers full force!

Scarlett Dawn has me bowing at the altar of her quirky imagination and incredible writing talent! Fast, furious, funny, sometimes heart wrenching, Caro is tough on the outside, but soft in the middle. Her attitude could cause gray hairs, as she tries to buck the system. There isn’t a single character throughout that wasn’t a joy to know, and the Kings and Queens? Haven’t changed a bit! Rules may be broken or bent, but one thing is for sure, Scarlett Dawn is in fine form, once again, writing as only she can, so expect the unexpected and enjoy the ride!

I received an ARC edition from the author and Escape Publishing in exchange for my honest review.
