A vampire never gets old. But neither do his enemies. When a figure from Ethan's dark past makes a splashy debut in Chicago, Merit and her Master don't know whether he's friend or foe. But they'll have to figure out soon, because trouble is brewing in the Windy City.

At an exclusive society soiree attended by the upper echelons of the human and supernatural worlds, Merit and Ethan barely stop the assassination of a guest. When the target turns out to be a shady businessman with a criminal edge, Merit suspects a human vendetta. But the assassins have fangs....

The connections to Chicago's Houses go deeper than Merit knows, and even one wrong move could be her last....

Dark Debt (Chicagoland Vampires, #11)My Review:
Dark Debt by Chloe Neill

Chloe Neill’s Chicagoland Vampires Series is a must read, mark your calendars, preorder and read asap for me; so when I got my hands on Dark Debt I couldn’t wait to read it. Boy, was it a thrilling adventure to traverse.

Merit’s father calls and insists that Merit and Ethan attend a fund raising ball with a huge business mogul. Choosing to go to said ball, Merit and Ethan are quickly swept into protecting a guest at this ball from a vampire lead assassination attempt.

Meanwhile, Ethan’s creator (who was thought long dead) has suddenly reappeared threatening everything Ethan holds dear…especially Merit.

Facing two threats is nothing new for Ethan and Merit but now it seems their foes have all the Chicago houses and vampires in their sites.

This time around Ethan and Merit are working closely together to save the day. I love Ethan’s character and because the newest foe is coming from Ethan’s past; we get a lot of Ethan stepping up and becoming a more active participant in the investigation…more than just his normal master role.

Neill’s transformation with her characters and sub characters development continues to amaze me. Just when you think you know them completely she adds a depth that you didn’t see coming.

Dark Debt is a power packed installment in the Chicagoland Vampire Series. With all great stories, Dark Debt left me wanting more. I am anxiously anticipating where Neill takes us on our next visit to Chicagoland.

I received this ARC copy of Dark Debt from PENGUIN GROUP Berkley, NAL / Signet Romance, DAW in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication March 3, 2015.
