How can you go on when you have lost everything?
When nothing matters.
No one matters.
Sometimes it takes a push from an unexpected source to help you realize what you’ve become.
Can a happily ever after really happen?
Or will the unexpected shatter everything around you?
Fractured: Volume Two by Alexis Noelle
Paralyzing heartbreak, grief, depression and a slight glimmer of… yep, that is how Alexis Noelle’s Fractured: Volume Two ended, but hey, this is a serial series, a literary soap opera. Have you ever seen a daytime soap end with anything other than a cliff hanger and the music coming to a crescendo? (And no, that was not a spoiler; I try not to do spoilers)
Shay is lost in her grief over Cam, she refuses help, secludes herself and pretty much stops functioning as a human being. An unlikely person slams into her life, the last person she wants to see, determined to heal the both of them, or possibly hoping that they can heal each other from the acidic burn of loss. Will Shay find too much resentment in this intruder’s actions or will that be the catalyst to at least get her to feel something again?
Will bonding in grief bring another type of bond between them?
Grab your tissues; get ready to turn on the waterworks, then the anger, then the shock. Yep, it’s all in there and Alexis Noelle poured those feelings over us with a very few well-placed words. Is she a master wordsmith or an evil torturer of hearts and emotions? If an author can stir your feeling up that much, if the pain begins to feel real, then they are an author to follow, read, review and repeat.
I received an ARC edition from the author in exchange for my honest review.
