Synopsis:

In W. R. Watkins' second anthology, the reader is taken through the discovery of love. From the wishes and dreams of being loved; to the mixed emotions of your first secret crush; to having to let that crush go.

Whilst less personal than his first book, 'You. Are. Not. Alone.', Watkins reveals his own experiences in having feelings so strong for someone, they are hard to ignore. Again, he has extended his hand to those experiencing their first crushes, offering to help them through their conflicting thoughts:

Am I really in love?
Will they love me back?
How can I get over these feelings?

'An Obsessive Infatuation' is the first in the 'Diary Of The Heart' series.

Diary Of The Heart: An Obsessive InfatuationMy Review
Diary Of The Heart: An Obsessive Infatuation by W.R.Watkins

Remember the feelings of your first love? Of wanting to know what love felt like? That jumble of emotional turmoil inside, from the confusion to the fear of being left far too exposed? W.R. Watkins has shared those feelings with an eye on evoking some type of memory or emotion from everyone who reads his words without having to feel that ”he saw and read MY heart.” From the dreams of love to letting go, each verse will resonate with its own truth for W.R. Watkins’ life.

With these words, he shares how every heart is actually very similar, it is part of being human.
Again, reading poems brings out the beauty of each word in a purely simple way, getting as intricate as the reader wishes. Well done, well-written and completely engaging. A wonderful way to re-discover poetry. I highly recommend Diary of the Heart: An Obsessive Infatuation.

I received this copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.
