Forever Checking by Jennifer Jamelli (Checked #3)

Forever Checking (Checked, #3)We read about it, we all have a little bit of its tendencies, but what is it like to be inside the mind of a person who truly knows the effects of OCD on the quality of life, the self-imposed limitations that are near impossible to overcome? How can a non-OCD person really grasp the torment endured by someone with OCD? Jennifer Jamelli’s final book in her trilogy, Forever Checking is our last chance to live inside the mind and heart of Callie, a brilliant woman who deals with OCD every day, every minute and with every action. Aiden knows about people who have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, he has been to school to help in the battle to overcome or manage this condition. Together Aiden and Callie form a tight bond, one filled with love and a huge amount of trust and bravery as he becomes Callie’s tireless cheer section as well as her boot camp instructor. Will his methods of holding Callie accountable for her daily actions build a firm foundation for slow, but monumental changes in her life? Is her love for Aiden and his unwavering strength going to be the balm that helps Callie to function in a world of germs, strangers and the unknown?

Jennifer Jamelli brings warm-hearted humor, frustration and romance to a woman who has become a prisoner to her own compulsions, but who wants to enter the world around her without having a breakdown. Ms. Jamelli’s hero is a rare man with his own demons who finds chemistry with a woman who is stronger than she knows. Together they are a force to be reckoned with. Yes, Ms. Jamelli uses repetition to demonstrate what goes on in Callie’s head, along with the counting, the music, the must have routines. Not only is this an emotional, eye-opening read, but it is written from the heart of someone who knows this condition, first hand. That Ms. Jamelli could write with such detail and keep it entertaining, as opposed to maudlin and dark, is a testament to her ability as a talented author to follow! I highly recommend this series for a real peek into the mental world of a person unable to completely overcome the issues they have. Highly recommended, highly informative, highly entertaining.

I received this copy from Jennifer Jamelli in exchange for my honest review.
