The Lion Security series fires off with Obsidian Liquor, where no one escapes the Russian mafia's flame...

While a brutal competition of America's heroes is held in the United States, Elizabeth Forter is on a personal mission to destroy the Mayor of New York City. But when she’s caught red-handed by a man who kills for a living, her enmity rapidly turns to fear.

Daniil Kozar isn't a man to trifle with, and Elizabeth is forced to strike a deal with the mafia king. Her every action is watched, and she needs to decide how to handle the gun-toting criminal--and his seductive charm.

Daniil may be the devil her father warned about. Or he may be the sensual awakening Elizabeth never knew she needed. Somewhere, Elizabeth's dad is screaming a prayer...

 Obsidian Liquor by Scarlett Dawn
Obsidian Liquor (Lion Security, #1)What happens when a preacher’s daughter and a Russian Mafia Don strike a deal? Has the lady made a deal with the devil or could it be that the Don has met his match in the petite and fiery strawberry blonde? Elizabeth is going for an expose on a crooked politician, as a member of the press, she has made a lot of enemies, but none scare her like the powerful force that is Russia’s mob boss. Daniil is handsome, hard and old enough to be her father, but there is something seductive in the very air of power, danger and mystery that surrounds him. Used to being feared, respected and treated with deference, Daniil finds the honest fire and the smart mouth of Elizabeth to be magnetic, as if she has bespelled him. She is nothing like the women he prefers. She is a woman on a mission and it has crossed paths with Daniil and his family. But the lure of animal passions, a few bottles of good vodka and the lust-o-meter hits the red zone! Talk about the odd couple, a woman raised in a world of forgiveness and the grace of God who is still a rebellious crusader and a man who is unafraid to pull a gun whenever needed, but has the gentle touch of a tender lover and protector, and we’ve only just begun…

I had tears in my eyes laughing at the antics of these two quirky characters, yes, both of them are endearing, human and a huge surprise! Scarlett Dawn writes and she scores big time in the reading bliss department! Talk about creative, fun reading and smoking hot steam! From the Uglies to the secret lovers, I loved them all. Scarlett Dawn is a strong author, filled with a zeal for her work that shines through with every word! I noticed something else, seems our Elizabeth bares a close physical resemblance to Ms. Dawn, which leads one to wonder about her quick wit, razor sharp tongue and knack for getting in trouble!

I DID receive a copy from Scarlett Dawn in exchange for my honest review, but I had already purchased it, myself!
