Cinderella's fairy tale moves to Jupiter Island, Florida where Lily Foster, owner of an eclectic landscape nursery, is mistaken for a wealthy socialite by billionaire resort developer Rhett Buchanan. Overdue for a little romance in her life, Lily is anxious for one fabulous date with her handsome prince, so she cultivates her inadvertent masquerade.

Rhett Buchanan has become jaded with the Palm Beach social scene, dominated by scheming women desperate for more money -- his money. Rhett falls hard when he meets Lily Foster. She is a breath of fresh air after the smog of gold diggers constantly surrounding him.

For Rhett and Lily, it's love at first sight until her deception comes to light and pitches their relationship into a disastrous tailspin. Well-meaning friends are determined to intercede and resort to inept high jinks to reunite the estranged couple while a wicked ex-girlfriend plays dirty to keep the couple apart.

Cinderella Busted (Cinderella Romances, #1)Will it be a fairytale romance or a comedy of errors that becomes a horror story for two strangers who both want and need true love but fail to connect on a level playing field? Lily is mistaken for a wealthy socialite by the dashingly handsome, Rhett, whose billion dollar empire has left him hurt and mistrusting in the romance department. Truth is, Lily is the owner of a unique landscape, but she feels inadequate as herself, while Rhett’s humble beginnings keeps his own insecurities ahead of his heart and brain. Let the games begin!

Not sure where Cupid was, but thank goodness for some well-meaning friends who will not butt out, no matter what disaster has befallen these two who never seemed to learn the word COMMUNICATION. Then again, perhaps without all of that, the evil witch (spell that conniving, selfish, ex-girlfriend) could never have swooped in on her broom so often to cause even more chaos and pain.

Cinderella Busted by Petie McCarty is like watching a tennis match as he said-she said-he didn’t say-she didn’t say is volleyed back and forth repeatedly! Lily is charming, na├»ve and completely insecure in a world she has never been part of. Rhett clawed his way to the top from the bottom of the heap and has lost sight of what is important in life. Are they destined to just another statistic on the dating scene? Has Cupid forgotten his job? Have the interfering friends run one too many plays? A light read, with an over-the-top amount of should have-would have- could haves, set in sunny Florida!

Petie McCarty gives us humor, deceit, treachery and love, all rolled up with one of the best cast of characters ever! A classic battle of good versus evil in the business world is the icing on this romantic tale.

I received this copy from Petie McCarty in exchange for my honest review.
