An ancient knot entangling Cleo in a world of magic and power.
A driven leader intent on controlling a curse.
A disgruntled slave no longer willing to bow to a modern goddess.

Needing to suck up to her parents, spoiled boarding school student Cleo Carruthers decides to make an effort and attend classes. Except the teachers can’t see her. The Knot of Uset has woven a web around her and she’s become truly invisible.

A slave to Queen Cleopatra in a previous life, Soul Warrior Antony refuses to serve anyone. But when a modern day goddess demands his help, he can’t say no. Saving the world must take precedence over his wishes. Until his wishes get tied up into a knot by Cleo.

Trapped in a strange world, together the two teens must secure the magic of the knot and become unbound from the relic’s powers. But they are being hunted by those who want them to disappear. Permanently.
Cleo's Curse by Allie Burton (Soul Warriors, #4)

Cleo's Curse (Soul Warriors #4)Money may buy a lot, but it can’t replace the love and attention of this teen’s parents. Even going for bad attention has backfired on Cleo as she and her credit cards are shipped off to a private school of last resort, far from her wealthy, socialite family. Next stop, *gasp* public school, oh the horrors! All Cleo wants is a family who wants her, loves her and is happy to have her, so she has determined to try another approach, become a model student, but an unusual gift from her aunt with a note to keep it hidden not only has Cleo mystified, but the “packing material” will start her on a path into a world filled with magic, ancient beings, curses and one very hot guy who claims he once was a slave to THE Cleopatra and is now a Soul Warrior on a mission to save the world. Too bad these teens are now the targets for permanent elimination.

That packing material? Seems that was the treasure to be hidden. The Knot of Uset has magic woven in it and Cleo is about to discover how that magic will change life as she knew it, things that she believed and will uncover the lies she has been told. Hang on tight, as we enter the world of Allie Burton’s Cleo’s Curse, you may never look at that ugly scarf from Aunt Matilda the same, again. Maybe it holds its own magic…

Get ready for a joy ride of endless proportions as Allie Burton introduces us to Cleo, the little rich girl who hides behind a fa├žade of haughtiness and price tags. Cleo is just great, not like I want to be her bestie in the beginning, but her character undergoes such a metamorphosis into a “real live girl” with a newfound purpose that by the end I was ready to add her to my friends list. And Antony? He was a tough one to get to know, one moment he is all business, the next he is a charmer, almost making me wonder what dirty little secrets he was hiding.

Start to finish, Allie Burton had me as each page revealed more depth, more intrigue and more great dialogue, both between characters and within their heads. I felt for Cleo’s desperation to be loved, raged at the lies she grew up with and rooted for her to find some inner peace. Some people should never be parents, as displayed by hers, but thanks to Allie Burton, Cleo may just see light at the end of the tunnel of love.

I received this copy from Allie Burton in exchange for my honest review.
