Childhood sweethearts, Michael and Erica, thought they would have the prefect life together—the career, the house, the kids, the grandkids, the dying old holding each other’s hands. What they hadn’t planned for was for a car accident to take Michael’s life and leave Erica to face her future alone.

However, after discovering that Michael’s spirit has the ability to occasionally interact with the human world, they begin to wonder if they can’t make his presence on Earth permanent.

Although, with so many years gone by, can they reignite the flame that had fueled their teenage romance and more importantly can they live with the sacrifices they must make in order get back the future they lost?

Saying Goodbye by Jennifer Lynn Reynolds

Saying GoodbyeFor Erica and Michael, their lives together and their love for each other seemed destined to last for eternity. In a flash, their lives together were cut short, but their love may prove it will last for an eternity. Michael’s life was snuffed out in an auto accident, leaving Erica shattered, and clinging to each day by sheer willpower. That first year was a living hell, but on the anniversary of his death, after a family graveside remembrance gathering, alone by his grave, Erica is visited by an angel or a spirit, and it was Michael. He had come back for her because their bond was so strong; he was not free to move on. That night a seed was planted that could allow them to have the life they were robbed of, but is it the right thing to do? It will take years before Michael’s plan comes to fruition, but will they find the love they shared as teens or will they finally understand that life is for the living, and even though love is eternal, there is room for love of different kinds both in the afterlife an on earth. Sometimes the best things in life don’t last the longest, but the impact is ever-lasting and when the time is right, it will always be waiting to begin again.

Flat out, Jennifer Lynn Reynolds had me in tears, more than once, as that lump in my throat caused me not to breathe. Few souls find that eternal love that is all consuming and surpasses planes of existence, but would we believe someone who said they were visited by their late lover? After reading Saying Goodbye by Jennifer Lynn Reynolds, my inner romantic would say it could be more than possible. Sweet, sad, sometimes so emotionally raw, this fantasy is one that will fulfill every romantic’s dreams. Well written, with a gentle pace, there is an air of the unknown that will not abuse any religious convictions, but does cause one to wonder, “What if...” I might recommend a tissue or two because once again, true love is never selfishness.

I received this copy from Jennifer Lynn Reynolds in exchange for my honest review.
