She sees a stereotypical thug. He sees a spinsterish misfit.

If the Guinness Book of World Records had a category for the world’s most boring life, Millie Stephens knows she would hold the record. After the plain, strait-laced personal assistant is saved by a total stranger from becoming New York City’s latest traffic fatality, she has a disheartening epiphany: her life’s highlight reel was nonexistent. Determined to step out of the shadows and take a walk on the wild side, she starts Millie-style—by making a list.

That total stranger, bad boy Ian Brand, could help Millie with one very important item on her list: sex. But Ian is more than the sum of his parts—and he’s got some really great parts. Beneath that sexy, tattooed exterior is a man with a painful past who’s desperate to both hide and overcome his disability in the pursuit of his dreams.

Will Millie and Ian look beneath the surface and see there’s more to each other than meets the eye?

(Dreams Come True, #3)

Dreams of Her Own (Dreams Come True Series, #3)We all have dreams, for some they become goals, but for others, these dreams are more ethereal, dreams of love and romance, dreams of being desirable, of being wanted, and that is just what plain, bland Millie Stephens had, dreams. Sure she had a fabulous job that gave her access to famous people, beautiful people and an extended family of sorts, but it isn’t the same.

Enter a knight in tarnished armor, or tattooed leather, scruffy, deep-voiced, and strong. He saved her from becoming a hood ornament on a busy New York street and of course, she froze. Now she dreams of him, erotic dreams, of course. Imagine her utter shock at finding him the new carpenter at her author/boos/friend’s home! Can she be any more of a dufus? She trips, she chokes, she spills on herself and always in front of Ian Brand, sex on two legs. As if he would notice her…

Notice her, he did, and it certainly wasn’t her dress or carriage, it was what was underneath, a woman with something to give, with passion and most importantly, a loving heart. But everyone has secrets and Ian has a ton of them, for which he is ashamed, and damaged. How could he even think this beautiful swan hiding behind the fa├žade of an ugly duckling ever win a girl like her?

Dreams of Her Own by Rebecca Heflin is one of those sweet romances that sparkle with all the humor of life’s imperfections! No over-the-top, perfect beings, but two strangers who seem to find a common bond in spite of life’s little interruptions and losses. Your heart will go out to Millie, the consummate Plain Jane. Don’t think you won’t feel something for Ian, he may be beautiful in a manly way, but the brutal past he endured became the basis for the caring man he has become. The swan he unveiled within Millie is nothing short of true romance, because who wouldn’t want someone who gave you the confidence to be the best that you could be, to grab on to what you want and to make your dreams come true?? Fun reading with a pinch of spice!

I received a review copy from author, Rebecca Heflin in exchange for my honest review.
