Kristen Winslow was beautiful, blonde, and somewhat naïve when it came to her men. She was expected to marry within her social circle; but the wealthier they were, the more secrets they had!

Palm Beach is hiding even a bigger secret as the prestigious members of the Whitestone Country Club are running amok trying to "secure" dates for their highly anticipated Black Veil soirée. At this shadowy event it is never considered a privilege to be the Guest of Honor, and poor Kristen is perched right in the center of their sight lines. And, with these edgy millionaires, their playrooms take on a whole different meaning!

It has been quite a quest for the young socialite while searching for her prince. She hooks up with a top executive, a Mafia nightclub owner, and a quirky New York police lieutenant, as she tries to avoid kissing all the other frogs along the way. She is also preyed upon by Robert St. Germain, a high stakes con artist who she just can't seem to escape!

Kristen finally finds her true love but then forsakes it all for Karl, a handsome and somewhat "devilish" British tycoon that she meets at a charity ball. As he lures her into his dark realm, Kristen is now unsure of exactly who is in charge of her future.

Season Of The Devil is filled with steamy romance, a hint of the supernatural, and unforgettable true to life characters. Its unexpected twists provide for an adventure on every page!

My rating: 4 stars

Fortune, fame, being in the “right” social status…what drives a pampered young woman to judge her own worth by the power, influence and money of the man on her elbow? What makes her crave every man who is able to dominate her? Why isn’t living like an “average” person with integrity and a hard-work ethic good enough for those blessed with the beauty to live off others? Kristen was born into wealth, a trust fund baby who shopped where and when she wanted, bought what she wanted and traveled to places where people go to be seen. Her looks and true ignorance to the game she was playing became a dangerous addiction for her ego.

Kristen loved men who dominated her, frightened her and rewarded her with material things, but what she wanted was a knight in shining armor to sweep her off her feet, of course they would have to wealthy to keep her in the style of living she was accustomed to. When she catches the eyes of a secretive BDSM group that consisted of the Who’s Who in a world of trolling sharks, she is more than scared; she is also thrilled to be so desired. Too bad Kristen is ill-equipped for the dark world she is entering.

Fast men, fast cars, fast love, all at her fingertips, but when real love finds her, she is still unable to resist the attractions of other men and their pull on her.

Season Of The Devil : Love & Evil In Palm Beach by Pamela Southwood follows the shallow quest of one woman who is looking for her Prince Charming in all the wrong places. Ms. Southwood has created a cast of characters, that while not always likable; they are fascinating to watch as they sliver through life under the guise of successful businessman. Kristen is certainly confused, not about what she wants, she wants it all, the mansions, the travel, the fame, being on the A list, but about how to get what she really wants, love and acceptance. Easily manipulated, she gives her heart to the highest bidder, but the cost to her is incalculable. With bold writing, no holds barred and in great detail, Ms. Southwood has created a fascinating tale of life for those who have too much money, too much power and too much time on their hands to stop and smell the roses. For a dark look at how “the other half” lives, I highly recommend taking a look at this novel. Then you decide, who has the better life.

When it came to writing Season Of The Devil, Pamela Southwood at first considered a pact with "the demon" to ensure fame and fortune.
However, since the author does prefer to be in control of her future, she opted out, at least for now...
Southwood enjoys creating edgy, unique, and memorable characters that will appeal to all the readers who like to keep life exciting!                                                                                       She hopes the reader does not take her writing seriously. Just have fun with it!
