The Forgotten Coast of Florida contains the most beautiful beaches in the world. It also hides a secret. A viscous murder causes the area to lock doors; staying inside away from the glory of nature. Delicious Tupelo honey, the most desirable of the golden nectars, silently gathers in hives. Locals collect it lovingly as did ancestors before. Gulf County Detective, Sue Gibbs, also gathers something of worth. Slowly, she chips at family and friends as she gathers information leading to the arrest of the perpetrator. Even the revered ladies of the Panhandle Patriots, who know well secrets of the area, are not beyond scrutiny. These special ladies silently discover mysteries on yellowing sheets of crumbled paper from earlier generations. Detective Gibbs will find the killer regardless of consequences. This case will cause discussion for future residents. All of this waits for discovery on the Forgotten Coast.

Audrey Brock thought of herself as a golden girl. Her dream life shrouded her as the cocoon of a metamorphosing butterfly. Suddenly, everything changed. Her gorgeous, wealthy husband fell for another. Her best friend tired of her. Wine and food became a crutch. Her beautiful appearance changed into an overweight woman who no longer cared about such trivial matters as appearance. When she thought things could not get worse, her best friend arrived late one evening with a new threat. The monster who robbed her of childhood in her fifteenth year was coming for her again. She sadly thought of all the years of mental torture she suffered because of him. This time, he would demand the only thing left in her life, which she loved. Audrey and Diana devised a plan to make him pay. After working all day creating a torture chamber, they were ready for him. It was easy enticing the madman into the designated room. Yet as she sat watching this monster sleep, she realized that he was now old and sick. The man on the floor naked and cold before her seemed to have already paid. Perhaps in many ways, she could not be sure. One thing was clear, she could not be the savage, which he had once been to her.

Linda Heavner Gerald currently has six published novels with one on the way. She has written four Mystery/Thrillers, one Children's Book and a Romance. Linda's background in medicine has allowed her to incorporate news about various medical problems which she hopes will encourage someone procrastinating to take that step and seek help. Mrs. Gerald also attempts to demonstrate in each book that no matter how far we may stray, God is always willing to take us back. No one is beyond the redemptive love of God.

Her writing began with Beaufort Betrayal. After a very long time of experiencing the same vision each night, she finally asked God if this was from Him or had she devised this. The answer was Beaufort Betrayal. Once she began to write, she was afraid that if she stopped, she may not be able to complete her thoughts. In two short weeks, working almost non-stop, she wrote her first book. As soon as it was published, she began Rosemary Beach. Will He? quickly followed. Dusty the Island Dog was also released at about the same time. It took a long time for her to believe that she could actually write a book of substance. When her works began to sell, she realized that God had blessed her with a new gift. Till Heaven Then Forever is her first Romance. Based on her relationship with her husband and a great deal of embellishment, this book was most rewarding. The interesting thing is that it is told from the masculine point of view. Now she waits for her "crown jewel," Confessions of an Assassin. "This is my very best." She is ecstatic about this fourth Mystery/Thriller. This is the story of Catherine Carnegie who becomes involved in a secret government agency. It is impossible to leave. The last assignment rids her of any joy in life. Then the package arrives which sets her free. Set for release any day. Her books are sold all over the world. They are also on Kindle and Nook.
Linda lives with her husband on the "Forgotten Coast of Florida" where they are retired. She has one son and one grandson in Dallas, Texas. Her passions are God, family, friends, writing, exercise, DAR and genealogy.

My current book, Enchanted, is inspired by the old song by the Original Platters, named the same. I heard the Platters in college. That particular song is stuck in my mind. I hope that you enjoy it.

  7. Hi, Linda: I'm curious as to where you live. I lived for years in Mexico Beach, not far inland from Toucans. I write the Mac McClellan Mystery series, and it's set in that area, in the fictional town of St. George. Cape San Blas is my fictional "Five Mile Island." "Murdered Twice" would be my choice. Wishing you continued success! --Michael

Michael, Thank you for taking the time to connect. I live on Cape San Blas. This has been home for over eleven years. We lived in the Bahamas and tried to find something close to it. This is as close as it gets. Thank you again for taking the time to contact me. Please stay in touch. May you have continued success in your writing!

    1. Claudette, Thank you for your interest in my books. Usually, it takes me about two months to write a book without edits. Editing takes me forever. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on my book.

  10. Makes me think of 9 to 5 with Dolly Parton. That was a hoot and Sins sounds like it will be too. Looks like quite a collection of worthy books. :-)
