Introverted bookworm Alison was forced to move to St. Augustine, Florida when her parents divorced. Leaving her comfortable life, she struggles to find a new one. In the blistering Florida heat, she stays indoors reading and spying on Rodham - the hot guy across the hall.

Everything changes when loud, mysterious neighbors move in next door to Alison. Mutual interest and a glowing amulet bring Rodham and Alison together. In a blink she’s fighting supernatural creatures, doing whatever it takes to stay alive, and becoming part of something much bigger than she could have dreamed.

The Vampires Next Door by Elle Klass

The Vampires Next DoorHow well do you know the neighbors next door or even the ones across the street for that matter? Maybe you’re new to the neighborhood, like Alison and spend time people watching from the safety of your home. Okay, so maybe Alison was boy watching because Rodham was definitely worth watching for, but maybe the newest neighbors, some model-perfect young women could take a little more investigating, and Alison is just the girl to do it!

There is something disturbing about those women, they are dead silent all day and by nightfall, their place is a hotbed of music, laughter and some serious partying, all loud, all night long. Is Alison the only one who hears them and oh my gosh, did she see what she thought see saw through the window? Turns out Rodham has noticed, too and he seems to have an inside scoop on what is going on and who they are. While it’s great to have a partner in crime, Alison may not be ready for what she discovers, especially when it involves her dear old Grandmother!

Head on down to St. Augustine, a charming town steeped in history, legends and rumors of the paranormal with Elle Klass in The Vampires next Door. Simply delightful, with a touch of mystery, some suspense, the paranormal and a young budding romance, Ms. Klass has shown another fact of her talent as an author. Wonderful characters, fast-paced and sweet, this is definitely both child and Mom safe reading! This character-driven plot is a great intro into the world of vampires without the bite of darkness and doom. You’ll even be able to sleep at night, unless the neighbors are partying, at which point, you may want to keep some wooden stakes handy.

I received a review copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.
