When the Last Son of the Glory of Heaven lost his father's attention to the first man of dirt, he vowed revenge. Paradise was lost.

Banished from his home and left to wander the mortal world until The Judgment Day, Sammael has lived more lives than he cares to remember.

But he can't forget.

Haunted by his memories, he is drawn to places of turmoil, always looking for ways to hasten the day when the Gates of Heaven opened and his father would allow him to return home.

Sammael's act of vengeance at the dawn of man destroyed a love that was meant to be and left his rival broken. What he didn't know was that the strength of that love left him vulnerable to losing his Glory forever.

In 1996, a chance meeting at an innocuous fundraiser renewed that ancient rivalry. Two men pursue the same woman but with vastly different intentions. She must choose between the man who has the world at his fingertips and one who wears his heart on his sleeve. Can true love overcome the burning need for revenge?

Glory by Mindy Haig

GloryRemember the asp that convinced Eve to eat from the fruit of the forbidden tree? Was he a minion from Hell or an angel who held the evil of the world, instead of the Glory of his God? Doomed to walk the earth as a human, lonely centuries go by and some of the dark, great events in time can be attributed to Sammael. Fast forward through the lonely years to the end of the twentieth century, when this dark angel finds the perfect blessed soul to steal. Little did he know that as powerful and wealthy man with godly good looks, he would find a human female that awakens his heart and makes him wish to end his lonely existence, but can he keep his vengeful and evil side in check? Will she bring him the peace and acceptance he yearns for? Will she be his way back into the arms of his Father?

Travel in time from ancient Egypt, through the time of Christ and see how Sammael was used to make beautiful revelations and events happen, but at the cost of other souls. Enter journalist Kay, an independent woman with a pure heart that captures the eye of Sammael, now known as Dominic. Meanwhile any longs for Kay, but his intentions are pure; he loves her and needs her. He will also do anything to keep her safe. Nate knows something is off about Dominic, but to say anything to Kay will push her more firmly into Dominic’s arms.

Good versus evil, love versus hatred, even the dark angel is a victim who one cannot help but feel for. In a battle for Kay’s soul, author Mindy Haig presents a tale based on Christian beliefs that reads like a paranormal fantasy with her novel, Glory. Written in well-thought out prose, presented with life-like characters, the heat is not in the physical but in the emotional tension throughout this tale. Feel the stories from the Bible come to life with a different feel, from a different, more human angle and get lost in a story from an author who writes with a passion.

I received this copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

  1. Thank you so much, Dianne! This is my favorite of all of my books. It came from the thought that in every religion/myth there is always a character who is discord, so what if that was always the same guy. I think everyone who's read it liked a different flashback. I have a favorite (but I won't spoil it!) I am so thrilled that you enjoyed it!

  2. I also wanted to let your readers know that The Messenger (previously reviewed here) is a sort of a prequel to Glory. In a timeline, The Messenger happened first, but it was written after Glory was completed to be used as a flashback in the sequel Forsaken (due out this June!) The Messenger is FREE, it will always be free on Amazon, B&N, iBooks and Smashwords.

I always love to hear readers' comments on favorite characters or in this book, Flashbacks! Thanks again for the beautiful review!
