My Review:
Within A Captain's Treasure (Captains of the Scarlet Night, #2)Within A Captain's Treasure by Lisa A. Olech

Alice Tupper, a lady's maid, finds her life aboard a ship bound for America. She is taking a job as a nanny once she reaches America. The ship is soon taken by pirates which she is a lone survivor, then that ship is take by another band of pirates, until she finds herself a captive aboard Captain Gavin Quinn’s ship. Alice most use her wits and cunning to survive a ship full of disreputable men. She will do her best to make herself useful to the Captain and crew. Most of the crew are quickly taken by Alice and her determination to work to the best of her ability but she manages to make some enemies along the way.

Alice discovers that life on the sea fits her more than anything else ever did and if she could capture the brooding Captain’s heart even better, but the Captain is having none of it.

Gavin chose the pirate life after the loss of his wife and child. He has done his best to freeze his heart. He is drawn to Alice but puts up as many walls as possible to keep her at arm’s length. Unfortunately for Gavin, his arms keep pulling her in. His plan is to get her off his ship as soon as possible and out of his hair.

Can Alice convince Gavin before it’s too late?

I loved Alice’s character. She was everything a woman should strive to be but nothing like a lady of her times should even consider becoming.

Be read to set sail for a high sea adventure with Within A Captain’s Treasure. Pulled in by the characters, I found myself utter invested in this novel and completely swept away by Olech's storytelling.

I received this ARC copy of Within A Captain's Treasure from Kensington Books - Lyrical Press in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication May 24, 2016.
