"Forgotten lines of ancient magic and the power of the throne. One will make them both his own if his heart sees the true power. . . " So begins the ancient Cremelino Prophecy.

Darius San Williams, son of one of King Edward's councilors, cares little for his father's politics and vows to leave the city of Anikari to protect and bring glory to the Realm. But when a new-found and ancient power emerges from within him, he and his friends Christine and Kelln are faced with decisions that could shatter or fulfill the prophecy and the lives of all those they know. Wizards and magic have long been looked down upon in the Realm, but Darius learns that no matter where he goes, prophecy and destiny are waiting to find him.

(The Cremelino Prophecy #1)

The Path Of Destiny (The Cremelino Prophecy #1)It wouldn’t be the first time father and son disagreed on politics, but for Darius, it is a matter of public note because his father is one of the king’s councilors. Young Darius wants to abolish the lines between the upper class that takes and controls and the lower classes who carry the burden of hard labor for little reward. Is it because his heart belongs to a lower class girl? But now Darius has a bigger problem, of prophetic proportions, as he discovers a hidden magic within him that he has little or no control over and magic has long been outlawed in the Realm.

Follow Darius, Christine and Kelln as they become entangled in an ancient prophecy, in a land filled with strife as they become players in a game of fate as they start down the paths they are destined to follow. Yes, there will be help in an unexpected form, there will be hard times ahead, danger and death, but Fate never takes the easy path, does it?

Like any good epic fantasy, the players must be introduced and begin their fleshing out, their changes and Mike Shelton is setting a stage filled with turmoil, chaos and questions, so many questions with no clear answers yet. The Path of Destiny is definitely not clear cut and Mr. Shelton has taken us on a huge leap into the unknown, along with his characters. Brilliant scenes that become mental pictures, character conflict, both within themselves and from others, the ferocity of battle, distrust and the power of agendas coming to fruition. A very strong start to an action-packed series for all ages, YA on up, leaving enough balls in the air that the rest of the story begs to be read.

I received this copy from Mike Shelton in exchange for my honest review.

  1. Thanks for the Review. Hopefully you like the second book, THE PATH OF DECISIONS just as much (or even more). I have had a really fun time creating these characters and am excited to be finishing the trilogy in the next month or so. - Mike
