George Holloway has spent his life alone, exploring the treacherous beauty of the Colorado Rockies. He's the best survival expert Search and Rescue has, which makes him the obvious choice to lead Ellie Price through deadly terrain to find her missing father. There's just one problem-Ellie's everything George isn't. She's a city girl, charming, gregarious, delicate, small. And when she looks up at him with those big, dark eyes, he swears he would tear the world apart to keep her safe.
With a killer on the loose, he may have no choice.
Ellie's determined to find her father no matter the cost. But as she and her gorgeous mountain of a guide fight their way through an unforgiving wilderness, they find themselves in the crosshairs of a dangerous man in search of revenge. And they are now his prey...
Gone Too Deep by Katie Ruggle
Ellie gets a desperate call from her father, who is known to have mental issues. He is going into hiding because someone is trying to kill him. Thinking her father is once again delusional, Ellie drops everything, heads to the Rocky Mountains and tries to find someone who will bring her into the wilderness to find her father at his family’s hunting cabin.
The person up for the job is George, an expert but maybe the most unusual on the Search and Rescue team. You could call him silent George, he rarely talks and keeps to himself. Pretty much the opposite to Ellie.
There is a chemistry between George and Ellie and the thicker things get the deeper that attraction grows.
Her father is truly being hunted and when Ellie goes into the mountains with George the killers start hunting them as well.
Great story, heart felt emotion, with Ruggle masterfully pulling together total opposites in a completely believable relationship. She does that by building a relationship of mutual admiration into friendship then love.
