Honouring a pledge made in the blood-soaked dirt of a prison planet, Sherise volunteers to lead the stolen people of Earth safely home. But when a collision plunges her ship off-course and they emerge three hundred years into Earth’s future, they have nine weeks to repair the ship or the path back to their own time will close forever.
On an earth seething with predators and dangerous tribes, Sherise discovers love with the Lycanean chieftain, Maaka. But can she trust him, or is he only after her superior weapons?
With the safety of her passengers and crew paramount, Sherise must choose her alliances with great care. For an old enemy is hidden on the planet, and he wants all her people dead.
After reading the synopsis, I was all in for Quest for Earth. The premise was wonderful, the originality was there and even the world building was pretty impressive.
Sherise and cast are on a spaceship heading to earth when it is knocked off course while in a “hyper-speed” mode and ends up a few hundred years in Earth’s future. They have a limited amount of time to make nice to the earthlings/inhabitants, hopefully finding the necessary equipment to repair their ship and return to their own time…or they will be stuck on this future Earth forever.
There is dome like dwellers that have advancements and safety while the surface dwellers struggle with vampire like creatures that keep attacking and transforming them all into vampire like creatures.
Sherise finds herself claimed by a shape shifting type characters who plays that uber alpha role.
That being said, I felt like I was seriously missing something and this is the first book in the series. Lots of background is given that really didn’t seem to matter to the story and zero character connection was induced.
Quest for Earth was interesting enough to keep me reading but the eye rolling moments kept me from embracing the story.
I received this ARC copy of Quest for Earth in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication July 05, 2016.
