The White Wind’s captain looked forward to a smooth, profitable voyage, but mutineers steal his ship and kill, kidnap, or toss his passengers and crew into the sea. Saddled with the ship’s most irritating passenger, he wonders why he doesn’t let her drown, be eaten by dragons, or taken by hostile barbarians. He must find his crew, cross uncharted hostile lands, and fight a magician to take back the White Wind.

Quest for the White Wind by Alan Black

Quest for the White WindAlan Black proves once again, that he is a master at creative writing, at bringing new worlds to his readers and at giving his all for us. This time out, Alan Black dabbles in the world of fantasy, Yeah, because an orangutan on the lamb is documentary material. Seriously, Quest for the White Wind is a swashbuckling tale with a rainbow of magic, a daring captain and a servant girl who has more surprises than a box of Cracker Jacks.

Come aboard the White Wind as Alan Black builds his world, colors his characters captivating and sets sail for adventure, danger and survival as one non-magical sailor is caught in the political machinations of wizards of the blue, red and green magical realms.

When his ship is stolen by a band of mutinous scurvy dogs, Tanden is “encouraged by a sharp blade and the snap of magic to jump ship and sink or swim to land. Forced to save a screaming banshee of a lady’s companion, he barely makes it to shore. But survive they do, a ragtag band of sailors, including an ogre and an overweight first mate. If they survive, Tanden is determined to get the White Wind back.

Scenes come to life as these characters take over and drive their tale into the realm of magical reading. Filled with humor, heart and unassuming heroes, from start to finish Mr. Black captivated me again with another remarkably entertaining tale!

I received this copy from Alan Black in exchange for my honest review.
