Zombie Girl by Elle Klass

Were the pressures from that “F” on her Anatomy test, her parents punishment and the directive to buckle down to study in her room too much for Maddie or was it the beginning of a nightmare that may never end? Elle Klass’ addition to the Once Upon a Zombietale Anthology, ZOMBIE GIRL is a brief tale of the time when Maddie’s world changed and she became Zombie Girl, a fourteen-year-old warrior woman.

It all began with a thumping sound and a few groans. What she discovered were her parents, but they were zombies after her flesh. Like any smart person, she ran, grabbing the car keys and tearing off down the road, over mailboxes, into cars, destination unclear. Hadn’t she read that zombies didn’t like water? Why not make her dash to safety in Dad’s boat? Couldn’t be much different than driving a car and she did okay with that, didn’t she?

Maddie discovers she is not alone at the marina, not only are there zombies, but a human boy, too. Follow their race for life on the high seas, and witness the dawn of the night after the Zombies came.

Elle Klass knows young teens, their ability to feel invincible and their resiliency in a time of crisis. Ms. Klass also knows how to write! This short tale is thoroughly entertaining, a little bloody, but definitely a fun tale to remember!

I received a copy of Elle Klass' Zombie Girl in exchange for my honest review.
