Kate Taylor had the perfect life. That is until an accident took everything she had away. For two years she has been living moment to moment and day to day. She's lost and can't seem to find her way back. Finally, in a last ditch effort, she decides to leave town in search of a fresh start. In walks Ryan Grant - a family friend who is thrust upon her. Ryan is amazing. The perfect man with dark hair and sexy green eyes. Doesn't hurt that they have smoldering chemistry either.

Ryan Grant is stuck in limbo, floating through life with work as his only focus. Probably because he's been betrayed a time or two by the people he thought he could trust. Needing a change, he plans on moving his company west to Seattle. There is just one big problem. He doesn't fly. So when a girl from his past offers to drive him across the country, how could he say no? Katie is his dream girl after all. Always has been.
Tensions build between them as resisting each other becomes harder and harder.

Start Again by J. Saman (Start Again, #1)
She was living her dream life, married to her best friend, a beautiful daughter, and life couldn’t get any better. But it could get worse and for Kate, the night she was called to the emergency room would be the night her life became a living hell on earth. For two years she existed, barely and now it was time to change up her world, to try to start over, anywhere far away from the memories.

Ryan needs room to breathe, he also needs a ride across the country where his work is taking him. The son of one of her mother’s best friends, Kate is enlisted to drive him and their road trip begins, a little awkward, a little tenuous, but the beauty of the country must have thawed the wall Kate kept up, as she gets to know the boy from her childhood that she cannot remember.

As each mile goes by, they discover that spark, and a tenuous relationship begins, friends, good friends are being carved out of two wary strangers who have been battered by life and are afraid to trust in either their own judgement or that of others. Each carries a belly-full of secrets and fears, some more terrifying than others, but what they discover together is the most terrifying fear of all for Kate. How can she leave her past behind and love Ryan? He is everything she needs, but she is not ready to admit it, even as Ryan wears his heart on his sleeve and is willing to a chance on shaky ground and that’s when Kate runs…

J. Saman’s Start Again is tells a tale of second chances and digging oneself out of the despairs of life and how unfair it can be. It is knowing you cannot be good for anyone else until you are good with yourself. Sometimes sweet, with touches of humor and a little flirting, sometimes raw and heartbreaking, prepare yourself to be frustrated, happy and completely engaged in a story of love that grew over thousands of miles, which may or may not find its destination in the arms and heart of another. J. Saman has told a touching tale of past losses and accepting the hope the future may bring.

I received this copy from J. Saman in exchange for my honest review.
