A freak accident at Chloe’s seventeenth birthday party reveals her psychic abilities, and the community responds by condemning her as a witch who must be burned alive. As she attempts to escape across the dystopian, war-ravaged territory of her homeland, she yearns for a chance to find refuge and acceptance.

On the run and haunted by ghosts from her past, Chloe finds herself at the center of a conflict between the warring factions of Cloud Lords, shape-shifters from another dimension, alternately revered as angels and reviled as demons by the subjugated human populace below.

A dispute between her people’s rulers, the virile Drakonin dragon shifters, and their sworn enemies, the night flying Vampirii, radically alters Chloe’s destiny when she brazenly intervenes in their struggle by sheltering a fallen warrior.

Chloe comes face-to-face with Aethan, a prince among the Vampirii, the most fearsome of the Cloud Lords, known for craving human blood. She will share a forbidden connection with Aethan that could ultimately lead to a place where her nascent power might bloom, provided she can survive the perilous events that will test the bounds of her resolve and love.

THE FALLEN VAMPIRE is the first volume in the FLUX & FIRMAMENT romance series for young adults. This epic adventure takes place in an entirely new universe—The Realm of the Cloud Lords, created by a catastrophic experiment at the Large Hadron Collidor, which has led to a fusion between our world and another dimension.

The Fallen Vampire by Beata Blitz (Flux & Firmament: The Cloud Lords, #1)

The Fallen Vampire (Flux & Firmament: The Cloud Lords, Prequel Part #1)A disastrous experiment has done the unthinkable. It has opened a dimensional tear and creatures of vast power have taken over the skies and all of humanity. They have become the gods human must worship and obey. Beata Blitz’s THE FALLEN VAMPIRE combines the best of genres, written for young adults, filled with dragons, vampires, witches and a society that has gone backward in their beliefs, superstitions and fears.

Her powers were unveiled during a simple game of spin the bottle at a forbidden teen party, but in the dystopian world she lives, this will mean her death. Only with the help of her best friend, the boy she secretly cares for does she escape her fate in a desperate run for her life. What Chloe hadn’t planned on when she slipped away from Wayne, was running right into the middle of a war in the skies between two powerful ruling factions. Chloe’s rulers, the fierce Drakonin dragon shifters are at war with the powerful Vampirii. When she goes to the aid of a fallen warrior, she finds herself in the company of Aethan, Vampirii prince and deadly Cloud Warrior.

This meeting will be the beginning of a life she could never have imagined, a life where her powers will not be her doom, but possibly her salvation. Does she have what it takes to survive the tests of the prince and his warriors?

You will love Chloe! On one hand she is a typical seventeen-year-old, on the other she has had to struggle with hiding the powers she possesses and if you had three hands you would see a teen with heart, compassion and the same yearnings of any teen. Several characters gave the feeling of being back in high school, while others made the atmosphere turn back time to the likes of the Salem Witch Hunts. Fill the skies with winged warriors form another dimension and can you say, bring me more, Beata Blitz! Bring me more! A great foundation to what appears to be a rapid-paced YA read with tons of imagination!
