Witches are real. They're descendants of the Greek gods.
Nicole Cassidy is a witch descended from the Greek gods... but she doesn't know it until she moves to a new town and discovers a dangerous world of magic and monsters that she never knew existed.
When the Olympian Comet shoots through the sky for the first time in three thousand years, Nicole and four others -- including mysterious bad-boy Blake -- are gifted with elemental powers. But the comet has another effect -- it opens the portal to another dimension that has imprisoned the Titans for centuries. After an ancient monster escapes, it's up to Nicole and the others to follow a cryptic prophecy in time to save the town... and possibly the world.
The Prophecy of Shadows by Michelle Madow
Feel the buildup in the beginning as we meet Nicole, who has recently moved and begins her life at her new high school where witches hide among the normal and their special classes are hidden behind the allusion crafted by their teachers. Think it’s hard enough just to be the new kid in school? Try not even knowing you are a witch, being in total disbelief, only to discover that magic is real and you possess some of the strongest ever, either that or you have had the biggest prank ever played on you!
Nicole seems to have her stuff together, although still in shock over her new life, while Blake is the bad boy who both attracts her with his charm and repels her with his nasty, high school princess girlfriend, yep, a bit of a triangle is in play and the claws will come out! Round out the five teens with two completely likable and more stable teens and this unlikely group have some major trouble on their hands and, of course, The Prophecy to deal with. They can only succeed if they learn to trust, work together and bury the hatchet on their issues anywhere but in each other’s backs.
Michelle Madow has put down a great foundation, building a world that accelerates with each page and flies across the finish line at full tilt!
