A city girl.
A small town boy.
A summer they'll never forget.

Spending the summer at her Grammy's in Lilac Bay, Devon, is city girl Alexis 'Lexy' Edwards idea of hell. That is, until she reconnects with her childhood friend, Jen, and meets Alec Johnson.
Alec is the kind of guy Lexy knows she needs to stay away from. He's the village flirt, ridiculously hot and very dangerous to her self control. But there's a problem – she can't seem to keep him out, even though she knows he'll break her heart.
As Alec slowly strips away Lexy's defences and the two embark on a summer romance she never wanted, their feelings grow to more than either expected. But nothing lasts forever, and reality intrudes.
As her world is shaken to it's core, Lexy's self made prediction comes true when she discovers she's spent six weeks surrounded by secrets. Kept out by her family and the only guy she's ever trusted, she falls apart.
And when Grammy tells her that 'you might not end up where you wanted to be, but you'll always end up where you're meant to be,' she has to figure out if her meant to be is back home in London, or if it's been in Devon the whole time.

Never Forget by Emma Hart (Memories, #1)
Did you ever have a sudden awakening that life doesn’t revolve around you? Lexy had that moment in a most painful way and it all started the summer she went to the country with her family, determined that at almost eighteen, her life was over.

She is serious, not boy crazy and thinks she has her life on track to reach her goals, but Lexy learns that life can be full of surprises, both good and bad when her grandmother decides to play cupid with the town bad boy, devastatingly handsome Alec. No matter how hard she tries, Lexy is falling for the player, the charmer and she doesn’t trust a word that falls from his kissable lips until she learns there is more to Alec than meets the eye and just maybe his reputation was a little overdone. When tragedy strikes her family and brings Lexy to her emotional knees, she discovers that everyone, including Alec was keeping a secret from her and Alec takes the brunt of her wrath, even though he was honoring another’s wishes.

Has she just been fooling herself that what they had was special, that once in a lifetime love? Is she ready to give up the boy she loves or will she realize that there comes a time when everyone needs to grow up and it doesn’t happen the day your birth certificate says you are an adult.

Emma Hart’s NEVER FORGET is written through the eyes, maturity and heart of a pampered teen, so keep that in mind when reading! Lexy is the perfect heroine to play that role, caught between true maturity and thinking she is all grown up. Alec seems more mature, but even his angst levels ran high. I do have to say that Emma Hart did a marvelous job creating the voice of youth, the angst of young love and the complications it entails. Her handling of the tragedy was very realistic based on her characters and as heartbreaking as it was, it became a much needed turning point in Lexy’s life.

A well-written tale filled with all the trappings of leaving childhood behind and entering young adulthood.
