Road to Yesterday by Greta Cribbs

Road to YesterdayFamily, maybe you can’t pick your family, but when the chips are down, family comes together, sibling willing to go to the mat for sibling. The familial bond may be tested over and over, but in the end, love wins out. Greta Cribb’s ROAD TO YESTERDAY Starts out as Kim and Violet are urged by their older brother, Kyle, to come quickly, their brother Alex has collapsed and his prognosis is not good. The year is 2017. But as is hurtling into a dream, Violet and Kim discover a person from their past, a person ten years younger than the last time they saw him and he has no idea where he is or in what time. As they drive across country to be by Alex’s side, they will uncover an amazing story of love in its purest and most unselfish form, a story that began ten years earlier when Kyle lay dying as Alex does now.

In the race against time, a matter of life and death, a mysterious entity may hold the key to the answers they seek and once again, the bond between siblings will be proven stronger than anything beyond the veil of death.

Greta Cribbs starts us on this amazing journey with a shocking revelation, sibling reminiscing and some humor and attitude that can only be shared by blood. Driven by these siblings, this story unfolds in a simple way, only to crescendo at the end in a heart-wrenching symphony that had me close to tears.

Short, yet wonderfully written, family and fantasy cross the barriers of time and the trials of sacrifice only to come out on the other side, a little sadder, a little wiser and safe in the knowledge that once again, family always has your back. If you are looking for a read that sneaks up on you emotionally while holding you captive through each page, this is one to try; definitely a brilliant hidden gem that deserves to be uncovered.

I received an ARC edition from Greta Cribbs in exchange for my honest review.
