Enter New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh’s breathtakingly passionate Guild Hunter world with the story of a woman who isn’t a vampire or an angel…or human…

Once a broken girl known as Sorrow, Holly Chang now prowls the shadowy gray underground of the city for the angels. But it’s not her winged allies who make her a wanted woman—it’s the unknown power coursing through her veins. Brutalized by an insane archangel, she was left with the bloodlust of a vampire, the ability to mesmerize her prey, and a poisonous bite.

Now, someone has put a bounty on her head…

Venom is one of the Seven, Archangel Raphael’s private guard, and he’s as infuriating as he is seductive. A centuries-old vampire, his fangs dispense a poison deadlier than Holly’s. But even if Venom can protect Holly from those hunting her, he might not be able to save himself—because the strange, violent power inside Holly is awakening…

No one is safe.
Archangel's Viper (Guild Hunter, #10)Archangel's Viper by Nalini Singh

We met Holly when she was rescued from the brutal torture she endured at the hands and fangs of an insane Archangel. Poisoned and on the radar of all Raphel’s seven, Holly has been dealing with the violent nature that has been infected on her by the attack. One of the seven, Venom, in particular, has taken a very special interest in Holly. There is something about her darkness that calls to his, something that can’t be denied.

Let me start by saying that the Guild Hunter series is an example of exceptional storytelling with a heartfelt plot, heated romantic entanglements, and riveting action. Amid such marvelous fictional escapes, Archangel’s Viper was just okay in comparison. No matter how much I wanted to connect with Holly’s and Venom’s story, I just didn’t.

Would I recommend reading this book, absolutely! My expectations for this series and author have set the bar high and if compared to all other reads, this series still is one of my favorites of all time.

I received this ARC copy of Archangel's Viper from Berkley Publishing Group. This is my honest and voluntary review. Archangel's Viper is set for publication September 26, 2017.
