Nineteen-year-old Myla Lewis has transformed into Great Scala, the only being with the power to move souls out of Purgatory and into Heaven or Hell. Trouble is, a magical object called Lucifer’s Orb is limiting Myla’s abilities. If she tries to move a soul, the Orb’s forcing her to send that spirit straight to Hell.

So, what’s a girl to do? Send innocents to the fiery down-under?

No way. Myla’s gone on a supernatural strike. No souls go anywhere until the Orb’s history. It’s the right thing to do, but Purgatory’s Soul Storage buildings are turning into time bombs. No spirits are moving out, while millions keep coming in. Myla’s determined to find the Orb and send the innocent to Heaven, but she’s running out of time. Soon, the containment fields will burst, releasing a mob of homicidal ghosts.

With Soul Storage ready to explode, Myla’s got enough on her plate without her old enemy, Lady Adair, causing problems. Adair is launching an ingenious campaign to take away everything that Myla holds dear, including Myla’s Angelbound love, Prince Lincoln.

Between their clever ideas and toe-curling kisses, Myla and Lincoln are fighting back. But will they beat the clock or lose everything to Adair’s devious schemes?

Scala by Christina Bauer (Angelbound Origins, #2)

Scala (Angelbound Origins #2)Clearly there was more to Myla than being a kick-ass fighter with a sharp tongue, quick wit and pointed tail. Newly transformed into the Great Scala, with the ability to move souls to heaven or hell (as needed). But something is rotten in Purgatory and Myla’s powers have been thwarted.
Seems there is something called Lucifer’s Orb and it is interfering with sending any soul anywhere but to hell…and Myla isn’t about to do a slipshod job. The problem? The containment fields where the souls are waiting are bursting at the seams and someone is out to ensure that Myla fails in a very big way and it’s all because of spurned love and an obsession with power. True, Myla can be abrasive, but her relationship with Lincoln is as solid as a rock and Adair will do anything to blast it apart, and someone is helping her in her nasty quest.

Christina Bauer’s SCALA is every bit as entertaining as ANGELBOUND, but this time out the action is ramped up to high, and Myla has more than stepped up to the plate at every turn! Talk about a character growing right before your eyes! Myla and Lincoln have their moments, they are young, new to relationships and yet, they have those core ingredients, love, respect and trust. Will it be enough when Adair really ramps up her mission to destroy Myla?

Once again, fabulous dialogue, characters that are evolving and one heck of a dilemma makes SCALA one of those edge of your seat reads that has you coaching from behind the scenes, in between smirking and all those fist pumps for Myla!
