Kim Law's HARD HEADED #Release Day #Giveaway

Author: Kim Law
Release Date: October 31, 2017
Publisher: Montlake Romance

Construction tip #1: Never anger a hot-tempered woman who knows how to wield a sledgehammer. And right now, Jill Sadler is spitting mad. Her company is competing on the wildly popular show Texas Dream Home, and she intends to give it her all. The opposition: We Nail It Contractors, helmed by the man who once married her…and walked out twenty-four hours later. Jill can’t let Cal Reynolds take this round. Not when she has her foster sisters and years of righteous resentment spurring her on.

Winning the contest would do wonders for Cal’s firm. Getting under Jill’s skin is just a bonus. She paints him as a villain, though Cal had no choice but to leave. Yet being around Jill again—fiery on the outside, vulnerable and warm underneath—is setting off sparks that can’t be blamed on faulty wiring. And the only way to fix the Jill-size hole in his heart is to risk everything and see if this love is built to last…

Guest Post: Top 5 Tools You Need To Get Your Man by Kim Law

Hardheaded is book one in my Deep in the Heart series. Set in the Hill Country of Texas, the story centers around three best friends and the foster mother who took them in as teens. After first trying to make it on their own—and each subsequently failing—the girls returned home to Red Oak Falls, and now own an all-female construction. Only, thanks to the competing business helmed by none other than Jill’s ex, they’ve yet to fully break into the business. They just can’t seem to win the big contracts. Instead, they’ve spent the past few years creating a niche business as a company of women building she-sheds for women. But they want more. They want to compete!

Cal Reynolds, however, does not want them to compete. He’s still angry over the way his and Jill’s past went down and the fact that she hasn’t spoken to him since their twenty-four-hour marriage ended. It’s been twelve years since that fateful trip to Vegas and six years since Jill came home, so when approached with the opportunity to go up against his ex in the popular Texas Dream Home competition, he can’t bring himself to say no. Being on the show together might finally force Jill into acknowledging he still exists. And if it doesn’t . . . well, he’ll at least have the pleasure of besting her company yet again.

When the girls’ foster mother informs them that not only did she enter them into the competition, but that they were chosen to compete, Jill never imagines they’ll be going up against Cal. Nor does she guess the producers are setting her up. But set her up, they did! Cameras are rolling as the two competitors meet for the first time. However, cameras or not, Jill will not let the logistics of being on camera together force her into speaking to her ex. The man once crushed her. He doesn’t deserve two seconds of her time. Only, the sparks that existed when they were teens still seem to be alive and popping, and it isn’t long before Jill isn’t only speaking to Cal, but looking at him in a totally different light. Could she possibly get a second chance at love? With Cal?

And does she really want it?

She just might. And once Jill sets her mind to something, she won’t go down without a fight.

So here are her five “tools” for reeling in Cal:
1.     A sledgehammer. Every girl needs to know how to wield a sledgehammer. Sometimes she needs it just for releasing pent up anger, but other times . . . she needs to show her man all that pent up passion.
2.     Let him catch you admiring his handiwork—and what he looks like wearing a tool belt.
3.     Play along when he thinks he has a ghost in his fixer upper . . . and maybe even use the ghost as an excuse to pop over.
4.     Chisel away at his stubbornness by making him laugh.
5.     And when all else fails, kiss him in a way that leaves him feeling he’s been hit over the head with a hammer (or a sledgehammer!).
