What happens when the wrong guy gives you the perfect first kiss?
I love almost everything about Camp Winnipeg. I’d been going there since I was ten but this year, I’m a counselor and it’s my chance to finally win over my dream guy, Alex. Unfortunately, his best friend, Drew McCabe, keeps getting in the way. He’s the snarky guitar loner who’d teased me at every opportunity last summer. But this year Drew’s being weirdly nice and I know he is up to something. Because people don’t change like that overnight, do they? Nope, they don’t. And I know that for sure he’s still teasing me when he pretends to be Alex and steals my first kiss. The fact that the kiss was amazing is even more infuriating.
Chloe is so adorable she makes my teeth ache. And I used think that was a pain to be avoided but more and more I am wondering if there’s a different way to cure an ache. When she looks at me with those big blue eyes, I can’t help but wonder if kissing her is the perfect balm. When I go for it, I manage to ruin everything.
Camp Crush by Tammy Andresen (Accidental Kisses, #1)
Pack your gear, we are heading to summer camp! Tammy Andresen’s CAMP CRUSH is a tale of what happens when growing up changes that summer crush you had year after year and suddenly he doesn’t look so perfectly dreamy next to the boy who had tormented you mercilessly.
Chloe is now a camp counselor after years of attending Camp Winnipeg and she wondered, hoped, dreamed that this could be the year Alex finally noticed her. She also planned on avoiding Drew, the boy that made fun of her bubbly personality. When Drew is mysteriously nice, Chloe has to wonder if he has some wicked trick up his sleeve, but what she finds is a boy who is deep, soulful and leaves her just a little breathless when a kiss in the dark send her head spinning, but who was the kid from?
Tammy Andresen’s CAMP CRUSH is the kind of sweet, innocent romance that is perfect for younger teens on up. Lots of awkward tension, mistakes and misunderstandings, but, I have to say, these teens eventually handled them much better than many adults could!
Definitely put it on that summer read list, no matter what your age, share it with a teen or two, let them feel how sweet young love can really be, after all, it was written for them!!
