This is it. The end of the world. Armageddon. The apocalypse...and it isn’t going to be pretty.
I lost count how many months have passed since that fateful day, since I was betrayed by someone with a heavenly face. The world is dying. There’s hardly any water, hardly any food. What’s left of humanity is dying out, and I can’t do anything to stop it.
There’s more to this, though. Hades doesn’t just want revenge on Satan and Dagon—no, there’s something else he’s after. Something ancient with seven pairs of giant red eyes. I have to stop him. I won’t let him get away with what he’s done to us. To me.
This is a game to the gods, a prophecy to the Seraphs. The Reckoning is here. To fight Hades, I’ll go to the one place Dagon isn’t welcome, the one place no Angel can go. Olympus. Maybe with the gods’ help, I’ll figure out just what it all means.
One mistake is all it takes. One mistake to unravel everything. When failing’s not an option, what happens after I make the worst mistake of all?
I always said the Devil couldn’t have me, but that was the biggest lie of all.

If three words could sum up this trilogy finale, they are: THIS IS IT! Because this is The End of the World, but trust me, Lexa is NOT going down easy or quiet or without taking some bad guys down with her and did I mention she is NOT GOING DOWN QUIETLY?
The world is in shambles, what is left of humanity is slowly, agonizingly dying out and Lexa is ready to take on the gods to stop the inevitable. While some gods tell her to have faith, others refuse or cannot interfere, but, good luck, anyway, so sorry you are up the proverbial creek without a paddle.
Lexa was doomed from the start, her soul was sold to the Devil, and now her heart belongs to her master, Dagon, son of Lucifer, but, if they consummate their relationship, well, that will result in more Hell breaking loose.
Meanwhile, Hades has a score to settle and he is not above using Lexa to get it. So, why not go to the ruler of the gods for help? Can Lexi convince Zeus to aid her dying world, to step up to the plate and act like a god or a man? Even on Olympus, Lexa will not be cowed into submission, not even when a lightning bolt is hurled straight into her chest…bring it, she is immortal. Yep, that mouth pretty much got her in trouble again, but it may have given her allies, too.
Hang on tight, Candace Wondrak is back with A RECKONING SO SWEET and Lexa is in full on battle mode, pained by the losses she couldn’t stop, angered because the Fates have seen fit to dump Armageddon on her doorstep and terrified that she may be in over her head, unable to change a prophecy starring her.
Once again, we are in Lexa’s mind, feeling her heartfelt emotions, alternately cringing and cheering at what comes out of her mouth as she goes where others fear to tread, says what a wise man wouldn’t say and challenges the powers that be to leave their own mark on history. But can they or are they just as powerless to change Fate as she seems to be? Lexa is probably the most unlikely heroine, yet, the one I’d want fighting for my existence. Brave to the point of crazy, a warrior trapped with the emotional maturity of a teen, daring enough to do the unthinkable, the impossible and survive!
Candace Wondrak is a creative genius in a decidedly quirky way! And. It. Works! Completely entertaining, filled with dark twists, horrendous evil and Lexa. Unexpected action, tremendously intense dialogue, both in Lexa’s head and verbal! Touching reunions, treachery, lies, it’s all here in this young adult, urban fantasy, end of times, kaleidoscope of action and adventure! It may be the end of a trilogy, but is it really “The End” of the story?
Probably the most fun we will ever experience with the end of the world…Pick up the trilogy, lock yourself away and take a wild ride with Lexa! Trust me, it’s a reading bucket list must!
I received a complimentary ARC edition from Candace Wondrak!
