When the curtain rises at the old theater, she sets aside past heartache and anger to revel in the new, exciting character she plays each night. When the theater owner brings in a handsome business partner to help with renovations, she quickly slams the stage door on any ideas of romance with the dashing actor.

Handsome film star Thomas Buchanan is intrigued by the mysterious leading lady. Her beauty and talent capture his attention, but the sadness he glimpses behind her cool demeanor draws him with a fire he hasn't felt in years. He yearns to know Amy better and forges a rocky friendship through her son's adoration of his movies. When danger returns from Amy’s past, Thomas discovers breaking through her emotional armor could be a deadly challenge.

After the Curtain Call by Nancy Polin
After the Curtain CallSettle in, and enjoy a truly warm romance about overcoming past traumas and learning that taking a second chance on love does not take away from one single mother’s goal to be these she can be for her young son. What Amy learns is the joy that sharing lives can bring. After the Curtain Call by Nancy Polin is a wonderfully romantic read about a troubled woman who finds release on the stage in becoming a new character every night until a new owner/ dashingly handsome looks takes more than a passing glance at her.

Thomas is drawn to Amy and as a master of nuance, sees below her beautiful face to the underlying tension within. Determined to break down her resistance to his attentions, Thomas finds his movies are a way into her son’s good graces. But could Amy’s shattered past rear its ugly head and become a deadly threat to their lives and love?

Beautifully written, far from a rapidfire read, this one is truly a smooth flowing romance with characters that have dark pasts, broken dreams and shortcomings that are very human. Nancy Polin is an author to watch for, she writes from the heart with great passion.

I received this copy from Nancy Polin in exchange for my honest review.
