Former Special Forces Lieutenant Jayson Harmon can't believe that his war scars don't matter to beautiful feline shifter Layla Halliwell. Why would she saddle herself with a broken man?

Her Rogue Alpha by Paige Tyler (X-Ops, #5)
Her Rogue Alpha (X-Ops #5)How many of us find that forever love, the one that lasts through thick and thin and even the physical and emotional battle scars of war. Jayson can’t believe that Layla would so willingly stand by his side after he was bombed, broken and discharged for the Special Forces. Layla, a feline shifter knows her heart belongs to one of the finest men she has ever met, but how does she convince him she is there for the long haul?

Desperate to be a “normal” man again, Jayson submits to an experimental drug that will repair the damage to his body and give him shifter capabilities, but will it? It could kill him, but if it works, he will be worthy of Layla and can go back to the only work he has ever known, military black ops. How sad he has no idea that Layla loves him from the inside out.

When Jayson is sent on a supposedly easy mission, everything that could go wrong does and it’s Layla who risks everything for the man she loves. If they live, will they finally find their happily ever after?

Her Rogue Alpha by Paige Tyler may be one of my favorites so far! Two people, struggling with their hearts, one of them struggling with their pride and broken body. Ms. Tyler has created two REAL heroes, not for their military achievements, but for the strength of their hearts and willingness to do anything for each other. Passion exists in the eye of the storm of danger they are in, but it’s in that passion their strengths will be amplified.

A wonderful, sensual romance about life, love and the meaning of being a hero against the odds of survival.

I received an ARC edition from Sourcebooks Casablanca in exchange for my honest review.
